23 pairs of chromosomes pass to each daughter cell
Daughter Cells- exact replicate of original cell
Meiosis-
1. Parents produce sex cells (egg or sperm) that contain ½ as many chromosomes as body cells
2. Each sex cell contains 23 single chromosomes.
3. When fertilization occurs, 23 single chromosomes from each sex cell unites to form 23 pairs of chromosomesà ½ chromosomes from father and ½ from mother

Genotype- gene pairs found in DNA (internal code)
Phonotype- the way the trait is expressed
Example- when the genotype for height is Tt, the phenotype is Tall
